Andre Bodin 6 piece dinner service

Andre Bodin 6 piece dinner service

Origin 1960's France

Set includes 2 wide bowls, 2 side plates and 2 dinner plates.

This dinner service would have been given as a wedding gift in the 1960's. Extremely expensive at the time, especially as made by a prominent ceramists, it would have been gifted to a wealthy couple and kept in the cupboard or on display for most of it's life, only used on very special occasions. This often helps explain the immaculate condition of sets like this.

Made by Andre Bodin in the La Borne area of France. An area famous for it's sandstone ceramics, it is positioned both in a forest, and on a vein of sandstone, leading to the high productions of wood fired sandstone clay staring back in the 12th Century. And now home to over 80 ceraisists working in the area.
