Originally this would have been used as a milking stool by farmers, the dipped seat would have added a level of comfort and the 3 legs allow the user to be supported whilst leaning forward into the animal.
The stool is in excellent condition and a very sophisticated shape compared to most. They are usually used as plant stands or home decor now.
